“Ahn yang ha say oh!”
This is a Korean Greeting which means “Hi”.
I came to Mizzou on February 24th for my I-LEAP program. I-LEAP is an exchange student program that allows Korean students to work at American workplaces as interns and participate in professional development seminars and American cultural experiences. When I came to Mizzou at first, I was surprised by the many nice facilities, especially the ‘Recreation Center’. Actually, I don’t like to exercise but I always went to the center to enjoy lots of awesome places. Also, Columbia is nice! Since I have stayed in Columbia, I felt very comfortable (except weather! It was my first time to see such a big hail!!). There are many kind and good Americans and exciting because there are many things to experience American culture like birthday parties and I can try many delicious foods from around town!
Now, I work at ‘MU International Admissions Office’ at Jesse Hall. I love this place and I’m so happy to work with my lovely and kind coworkers and excited that I can learn something, like how American businesses (and offices) work. I’m really happy to have such a precious experience in Columbia now. Although I just stayed a semester in the USA, I had many fun things, like visiting Chicago and New York City. I have learned many things about America, like business and classroom culture. I won’t forget these precious memories and I’ll definitely want to come back here!
Thank you all who helped me in Mizzou and I’ll miss you all!!
