MU had its 40th annual International Day and Bazaar on Wednesday. This year’s event began with a flag ceremony featuring more than 50 different flags and a parade from Lowry Mall to the Student Center, Memorial Union, and the Quad. It culminated back at Lowry with free food from different nations. International student organizations shared information about their native culture with students. MU Students Get a Taste of Culture

MU had its 40th annual International Day and Bazaar on Wednesday.

This year’s event began with a flag ceremony featuring more than 50 different flags and a parade from Lowry Mall to the Student Center, Memorial Union, and the Quad. It culminated back at Lowry with free food from different nations. International student organizations shared information about their native culture with students.

Students Olivia Vierrether and Hailey Ragan were a couple of the many students who were attracted to Lowry by the smells of exotic (and free) food, as well as a sea of colorful flags.

“I saw a bunch of flags and I thought it was Flag Day, but then I realized it was the international bazaar and I got really excited,” Vierrether said. “I like trying new things. I like international bazaars because you learn so much about different countries.”
